Description

These Philly Cheesesteak Sliders are a delicious and flavorful treat, perfect for parties, game days, or a tasty family meal. Tender thinly sliced beef cooked with sautéed onions and bell peppers, layered with melted provolone cheese and classic mayo on soft slider buns, baked to golden perfection.

Ingredients

Scale

Beef and Vegetables

  • 1 lb thinly sliced beef
  • 1/2 cup onions, sliced
  • 1/2 cup bell peppers, sliced

Dairy

  • 1 cup provolone cheese, shredded

Bread and Condiments

  • 1 package slider buns
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise

Seasoning and Oil

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to prepare for baking the sliders later.
  2. Sauté Vegetables: Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the sliced onions and bell peppers, sautéing until they become soft and fragrant, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Cook the Beef: Add the thinly sliced beef to the skillet with the softened vegetables. Cook while stirring occasionally until the beef is browned and fully cooked. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  4. Prepare Buns: Slice the slider buns in half horizontally. Spread mayonnaise evenly on the inside of each bun half.
  5. Assemble Sliders: On the bottom half of each bun, layer the cooked beef and vegetable mixture. Sprinkle shredded provolone cheese generously over the beef layer.
  6. Bake the Sliders: Place the top halves of the buns on the assembled sliders. Arrange them on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 10-15 minutes until the cheese is melted and the buns turn golden brown.
  7. Serve Warm: Remove the sliders from the oven, slice if needed, and serve immediately while warm for the best flavor.

Notes

  • For added flavor, you can sauté the onions and peppers with a little garlic or use different colored bell peppers.
  • Use thinly sliced ribeye or sirloin for authentic Philly cheesesteak taste.
  • These sliders can be made ahead and reheated, but are best served fresh from the oven.
  • Swap provolone cheese with mozzarella or American cheese if preferred.
  • Adjust seasoning according to taste, and add hot sauce or pickled jalapeños for a spicy kick.
