Description

Mocha Pops are a delightful frozen treat combining rich brewed coffee, creamy milk, and chocolatey cocoa powder. These easy-to-make popsicles offer a refreshing pick-me-up anytime and are perfect for coffee and chocolate lovers looking for a cool dessert.

Ingredients

Scale

Mocha Pops

  • ยพ cup strong brewed coffee or espresso
  • 1 ยผ cups milk (dairy or non-dairy)
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • ยผ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch (optional)
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Combine Ingredients: In a blender or a bowl, add the brewed coffee, milk, cocoa powder, sugar, vanilla extract, cornstarch (if using), and a pinch of salt. This combination forms the base of your mocha pops.
  2. Blend or Whisk: Blend the mixture in the blender or whisk well in a bowl until the cocoa powder and sugar are fully dissolved and the mixture is smooth and uniform in texture.
  3. Fill Molds: Pour the smooth mocha mixture into popsicle molds, making sure to leave a little space at the top to allow for expansion when freezing.
  4. Insert Sticks: Place the popsicle sticks into the molds and gently tap the molds on a surface to release any trapped air bubbles for a better texture.
  5. Freeze: Place the filled molds in the freezer and freeze for at least 4 to 6 hours or until the popsicles are completely solid and frozen through.
  6. Remove from Molds: To easily release the popsicles, run the molds quickly under warm water for a few seconds. Gently pull the popsicles out and enjoy your mocha-flavored frozen treat.

Notes

  • You can use any type of milk including almond, soy, or oat milk for a dairy-free version.
  • Cornstarch is optional but helps thicken the mixture slightly for a creamier texture.
  • Adjust the sugar amount based on your desired sweetness and the strength of the coffee.
  • Be sure the coffee is cooled before mixing to avoid melting the pops prematurely.
  • Store popsicles in the freezer and consume within 1-2 weeks for best texture and flavor.
