Ingredients
Scale
Rolls
- 18 frozen Rhodes dinner rolls, thawed
Garlic Butter Mixture
- 6 Tablespoons salted butter, melted
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 Tablespoon dried parsley flakes
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (plus 2 Tablespoons for sprinkling)
Instructions
- Thaw the rolls: Begin by thawing the frozen Rhodes dinner rolls according to the package directions. This ensures they are soft and ready to be cut and coated.
- Cut the rolls: Once thawed, cut each roll into 4 equal pieces and set them aside to prepare for coating.
- Prepare the muffin tin: Spray a 12-cup muffin tin generously with cooking spray to prevent sticking and make for easy removal after baking.
- Make garlic butter coating: In a large bowl, combine the melted salted butter, minced garlic, dried parsley flakes, and 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese. Mix well to evenly distribute the flavors.
- Coat the roll pieces: Add 6 pieces of the cut rolls into the garlic butter mixture and toss carefully to coat each piece thoroughly with the flavorful mixture.
- Fill muffin cups: Place the 6 coated roll pieces into one muffin cup, pressing down lightly to form a compact mound. Repeat this process for all 12 muffin cups until full.
- Top with Parmesan: Sprinkle the remaining 2 tablespoons of grated Parmesan cheese evenly over the tops of all the filled muffin cups for an extra cheesy finish.
- Bake: Bake the monkey breads in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 12 to 14 minutes or until the rolls turn golden brown and aromatic.
- Serve warm: Remove from oven, let cool slightly, and serve warm. Enjoy the gooey, garlicky goodness as a perfect appetizer or snack.
Notes
- Rhodes dinner rolls are preferred for their taste and texture, but canned buttermilk biscuits can be used as a substitute.
- Ensure the rolls are fully thawed before cutting for easier handling and better texture.
- For a stronger garlic flavor, you can increase the amount of minced garlic to 4 cloves.
- Use fresh Parmesan cheese for the best flavor and melting quality.
- Make sure to spray the muffin tin well to avoid sticking and ease removal.
- Serve warm for the best taste and texture; leftovers can be reheated gently in the oven.
