Description

Delicious marinated mozzarella balls soaked in a flavorful blend of olive oil, vinegar, herbs, and spices, perfect as an appetizer, snack, or salad addition.

Ingredients

Scale

Mozzarella Balls

  • 8 ounces mozzarella balls (bocconcini or ciliegine, drained)

Marinade

  • ยฝ cup olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons white wine vinegar (or red wine vinegar)
  • ยผ cup diced roasted red peppers (or sliced sundried tomatoes)
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley
  • ยฝ teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • ยฝ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ยผ teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • ยฝ teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Prepare Mozzarella: Add the mozzarella balls to a 2-cup mason jar or any jar with a tight-fitting lid to ensure the marinade will fully cover and infuse the cheese.
  2. Mix Marinade: In a measuring cup, combine olive oil, white wine vinegar, diced roasted red peppers, dried parsley, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, red pepper flakes, and salt. Stir well to blend all ingredients together.
  3. Combine and Shake: Pour the prepared marinade over the mozzarella balls in the jar. Seal the jar tightly with the lid and shake vigorously to evenly distribute the marinade around the cheese.
  4. Marinate: Refrigerate the jar immediately and allow the mozzarella balls to marinate for 24 hours. During this time, shake or turn the jar occasionally to ensure even flavor penetration.

Notes

  • Marinate for at least 24 hours for the best flavor.
  • Use a jar with a tight lid to prevent leaks while shaking.
  • Serve chilled or at room temperature as an appetizer or salad topping.
  • Can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
  • Substitute roasted red peppers with sundried tomatoes for a different flavor profile.
