Ingredients
Scale
Chicken and Marinade
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1/2 cup hot honey
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- Salt and pepper to taste
Topping and Garnish
- 1/2 cup crumbled feta cheese
- Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) to prepare for baking the chicken.
- Prepare the Marinade: In a bowl, combine the hot honey, olive oil, minced garlic, dried oregano, salt, and pepper. Mix thoroughly to create a flavorful marinade.
- Marinate the Chicken: Place the chicken breasts in a baking dish and pour the marinade over them, ensuring each piece is well coated. Allow the chicken to marinate for at least 15 minutes to absorb the flavors.
- Bake the Chicken: Transfer the baking dish to the preheated oven and bake the chicken for 25-30 minutes, or until cooked through and no longer pink inside.
- Add Feta Cheese: In the last 5 minutes of baking, sprinkle the crumbled feta cheese evenly over the chicken and return it to the oven to melt slightly.
- Broil for Extra Flavor (Optional): For a lightly browned and flavorful top, switch your oven to broil for an additional 2-3 minutes. Watch carefully to prevent burning.
- Garnish and Serve: Remove the chicken from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving to add a bright touch.
Notes
- Marinate the chicken for longer (up to 2 hours) in the refrigerator for deeper flavor.
- If you prefer less heat, reduce the amount of hot honey or use a mild honey instead.
- Serve with a side of roasted vegetables or a fresh salad for a complete meal.
- Use a meat thermometer to ensure the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C) for safety.
- The broiling step is optional but enhances the flavor and texture of the feta topping.
