Description

A vibrant and refreshing Dragon Fruit Lemonade combining the tropical sweetness of dragon fruit and mango with tangy lemon juice, sweetened naturally with honey and balanced with a touch of salt. Perfectly blended and strained for a smooth, frothy drink that can be served chilled or over ice.

Ingredients

Scale

Liquid Ingredients

  • 2 cups water
  • 1/2 cup lemon juice, freshly squeezed

Fruit Ingredients

  • 1 cup frozen dragon fruit
  • 1/2 cup chopped mango
  • 2 lemons worth of zest

Sweetener and Seasoning

  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/8 tsp kosher salt or Celtic sea salt

Instructions

  1. Add ingredients to blender: Place the water, frozen dragon fruit, chopped mango, lemon juice, lemon zest, and salt into a high-powered blender. Add the honey last to prevent it from sticking to the bottom.
  2. Blend ingredients: Turn the blender on to low speed for 30 seconds, then increase to medium-high speed and blend for an additional 1 minute and 30 seconds until the lemonade is frothy and well combined.
  3. Strain the lemonade: Place a nut milk bag or fine mesh sieve over a large pitcher or bowl with a spout. Pour the blended lemonade through it, squeezing to extract as much liquid as possible, leaving behind any pulp for a smooth beverage.
  4. Chill and serve: Transfer the strained lemonade into a glass bottle or jar and chill in the refrigerator for 1 to 2 hours until cold. Alternatively, serve immediately over ice for a refreshing drink.

Notes

  • Using frozen dragon fruit helps make the lemonade refreshingly cold without diluting it with ice.
  • You can adjust the sweetness by adding more or less honey according to your taste preference.
  • Straining the lemonade ensures a smooth texture by removing pulp and seeds.
  • For a vegan version, substitute honey with agave syrup or maple syrup.
  • Fresh lemon juice is recommended for the best flavor.
