Description

These Cheesecake Factory Buffalo Blasts are crispy, cheesy, and packed with flavorful buffalo chicken filling wrapped in golden-fried wonton wrappers. Perfect as finger food or party appetizers, they deliver the spicy kick of buffalo sauce combined with shredded chicken and melted cheese, served with cool ranch or blue cheese dressing for dipping.

Ingredients

Scale

Buffalo Chicken Filling

  • 2 cups shredded cooked chicken (rotisserie chicken recommended)
  • 1/2 cup buffalo sauce
  • 3 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or cheddar and jack blend)
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • Optional: ranch or blue cheese dressing (for creamier filling)

Assembly and Frying

  • 20 to 24 wonton wrappers (found in refrigerated section)
  • Vegetable or canola oil (for frying, enough to submerge wontons about 2–3 inches deep)
  • Ranch or blue cheese dressing (for dipping)
  • Carrot sticks or celery sticks (optional, for serving)

Instructions

  1. Make the Filling: In a medium bowl, combine shredded chicken, buffalo sauce, melted butter, shredded cheese, and black pepper. For a creamier texture, stir in some ranch or blue cheese dressing until well mixed.
  2. Assemble the Buffalo Blasts: Lay wonton wrappers flat on a clean surface. Place about 1 tablespoon of the buffalo chicken filling in the center of each wrapper. Lightly brush the edges of the wrapper with water to act as glue. Fold two opposite corners together to form a triangle shape and press firmly to seal edges completely.
  3. Heat the Oil: Pour enough vegetable or canola oil into a deep pan or pot to submerge the wontons, approximately 2 to 3 inches deep. Heat the oil to 350°F (175°C), ensuring it’s hot enough for frying but not smoking.
  4. Fry the Buffalo Blasts: Carefully place 3 to 4 stuffed wontons at a time into the hot oil to avoid overcrowding. Fry them for 2 to 3 minutes, flipping occasionally, until they turn a golden brown color and are crispy on all sides.
  5. Keep Them Warm: Transfer the fried Buffalo Blasts to a baking sheet and place them in a low oven set to about 200°F (93°C) to keep them warm and crispy while you fry the remaining wontons.
  6. Serve: Plate the Buffalo Blasts and serve immediately with ranch or blue cheese dressing on the side for dipping. Accompany them with carrot or celery sticks for a classic buffalo snack experience.

Notes

  • Use rotisserie chicken for ease and extra flavor, or cook and shred your own chicken breasts.
  • Wonton wrappers can be found in the refrigerated section of most grocery stores near the tofu or dumpling ingredients.
  • If you prefer baking over frying, bake at 400°F for 10–12 minutes or until crispy, flipping midway.
  • Adjust spice level by varying the amount of buffalo sauce or using milder/hotter versions.
  • Leftover Buffalo Blasts can be reheated in an air fryer or oven to maintain crispiness.
