Description

A delicious and low-carb Cheese Crust Breakfast Pizza featuring a crispy cheese crust topped with baked eggs, savory breakfast sausage, and fresh herbs. Perfect for a hearty morning meal or brunch.

Ingredients

Scale

Cheese Crust

  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Toppings

  • 4 large eggs
  • ½ lb (225 g) breakfast sausage, cooked and crumbled
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • ¼ cup red onion, diced (optional)
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley or chives, chopped
  • 1 tsp red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) to prepare for baking the pizza.
  2. Mix Cheese Crust: In a bowl, combine 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese and 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese thoroughly.
  3. Form Cheese Crust: Spread the cheese mixture evenly on a baking sheet to create the pizza crust base.
  4. Bake Crust: Bake the cheese crust for 10 minutes or until it turns golden and starts to crisp.
  5. Prepare Eggs: In a separate bowl, beat the 4 large eggs and season them with salt and black pepper to taste.
  6. Add Eggs to Crust: Carefully pour the beaten eggs over the baked cheese crust, spreading evenly.
  7. Add Toppings: Sprinkle the cooked and crumbled breakfast sausage, diced red onion, shredded mozzarella and cheddar (1 cup and ½ cup respectively), and red pepper flakes evenly over the eggs.
  8. Bake Pizza: Return the pizza to the oven and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the eggs are fully set.
  9. Garnish and Serve: Remove from the oven and garnish with fresh chopped parsley or chives before serving.

Notes

  • For a spicier pizza, increase the amount of red pepper flakes.
  • You can substitute breakfast sausage with cooked bacon or ham.
  • If you prefer, omit the onions for a milder flavor.
  • Ensure eggs are fully cooked to a set consistency before removing from oven.
  • This pizza is low-carb and gluten-free due to the cheese crust.
